The UK Department for Transport (DfT) has asked Nautilus to promote a survey to members that will help the government to understand the future of the maritime workforce and future policy around seafarer training.
The survey, conducted by Cebr and YouGov on behalf of DfT, is available here. It closes on Wednesday 29 October 2025 and responses are confidential.
This survey explores key issues affecting the maritime sector, including current and future demand for UK seafarers, workforce composition, recruitment challenges, career progression, and the risks and opportunities ahead. The findings will help shape national policy and support long-term planning for seafarer training and development.
