Join Mark Dickinson for crew change crisis debate

Nautilus general secretary Mark Dickinson will address a special global maritime industry leadership panel discussion on the challenges the Covid-19 crew change crisis continues to pose for seafarers.

The one hour 'Mask on Seafarers Off' session will be hosted in Germany on Tuesday 2 February at 13.45 local time (12.45 GMT) by the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) Germany @SMM Streams.

Industry experts will discuss what challenges there are with crew changes, what impacts this has on employees onboard and ashore, and explore possible solutions.

The panel will be moderated by Claudia Ohlmeier, group leader PSC, DNV GL. Other speakers include:

  • Natalie Shaw, director employment affairs ICS
  • Captain Silke Muschitz, senior director Marine HR, Hapag-Lloyd
  • Brandt Wagner, head of the ILO's Transport and Maritime Unit

After the leadership panel, for the fourth time, WISTA Germany is also awarding its Personality of the Year prize for women in the German maritime industry who have demonstrated outstanding performance, commitment and knowledge.
