Nautiilus International has been visiting liaison officers in Scotland to help them assist fellow Union members in their workplaces.
During September, head of industrial Micky Smyth met with liaison officers from Caledonian MacBrayne and Stena Line for training.
'The purpose of the training is for these members to understand their roles and responsibilities as accredited liaison officers of Nautilus International,' Mr Smyth said. 'It's important that liaison officers at the two biggest ferry companies in the UK have this kind of understanding.
'During these sessions we highlighted issues such as recruitment, collective bargaining agreements, company policies, GDPR, bullying and harassment, disciplinary and grievance procedures, and the various Nautilus forums, emphasising that we are a membership-led union. The feedback from liaison officers was positive.'
