NautilusTV wins at 2025 TUC Trade Union Comms Awards

4 December 2025

Nautilus International has won 'Best Communication from a Smaller Union' at the TUC Trade Union Comms Awards, in recognition of the growing success of NautilusTV, our dedicated YouTube channel.

Launched as part of the Union's wider digital engagement strategy, NautilusTV has become a key platform for delivering timely information, expert analysis, and real-world stories to members and tackling 'sea blindness' among the public. It also reflects the Union's commitment to transparency, giving members an insight into the work being done on their behalf.

The judges highlighted the high production quality and strong editorial standards. They also highlighted the good variety of items and presentation styles. They praised the Union for trying a new way to reach and engage with its existing membership and potential new members, stating that 'The content is easy to follow and most importantly relevant to members. And video content makes the senior management team more accessible to the membership. It's easy to see why the engagement figures are strong.'

Helen Kelly, Nautilus director of communications, campaigns and digital, said: 'As a smaller union, we have to innovate to make our voice heard. NautilusTV shows what's possible when we embrace new ways of organising, informing and engaging.'

With more content in development and new formats under way, NautilusTV will continue to evolve as a vital space for maritime professionals.

Members can explore the growing library of videos on the NautilusTV YouTube channel, and subscribe to stay up to date with the latest content.
