What is working on river cruise vessels really like? What are the working conditions, job security, and workplace challenges?
Despite the industry's significance on Europe's inland waterways, there is still a lack of comprehensive, scientific research on the reality of employment in this sector.
This is where you come in. The European Transport Workers' Federation (ETF) has launched a survey about onboard life in river cruise vessels, and ETF affiliates such as Nautilus are encouraging members to take part.
Whether you are in the nautical officer crew (including captains, deckhands and engineers), or part of the onboard services crew (including chefs, waiters, hotel managers, bartenders, and housekeeping staff), your insights are invaluable.
By taking part in this survey, you'll contribute to a better understanding of labour conditions, helping to identify key challenges and areas for improvement. The results will be used to raise awareness and advocate for fairer working conditions in the river cruise sector.
The anonymous survey is available in English, Croatian, Czech, German, Hungarian and Ukrainian. Have your say here: www.etf-europe.org/activity/river-cruise.
