      Nautilus secures pay for crew on 'frozen' superyacht

      Nautilus International has helped to ensure that crew members on a 115m superyacht detained in Dubai since February have had their wages paid.

      The Marshall Islands-flagged Luna has been subject to a 'freezing order' preventing it from sailing in a dispute over the seizure of assets linked to a divorce settlement involving the owner, the Russian oil tycoon Farkhad Akhmedov.

      The yacht has not been allowed to leave Port Rashid in Dubai while the courts decide on claims arising from the US$641m divorce settlement. 

      Nautilus strategic organiser Danny McGowan said he had assisted members onboard the yacht whose wages had been delayed as a result of the action. 'I contacted the management company on behalf of the crew members, and as a consequence the payment of their wages was brought up to date,' he explained. 'The company was cooperative and we have invited them to work more closely with us in order to prevent these sorts of delays in future.'
